ANGELA PANETTIERI | PAN-PAN FOUNDER

I’m not your typical solo designer. I collaborate, adapt and integrate - partnering with agencies, teaming up with other designers or pulling the right mix of people into my own practice. I’ve worked this way for over 30 years, always focused on what matters most: designing with purpose, for people and with clients I really like!

At the heart of my work is co-creation. Conversations about business and organisational challenges don’t just inform the design - they shape its sustainability and effectiveness. I understand the pressure points from all sides, having worked inside organisations,  alongside them and having a company of my own. This perspective means I can navigate complexity with clarity, and help internal stakeholders feel genuinely supported.

PAN-PAN is my consulting practice, a nod to my surname, Panettieri, and to the international ‘pan-pan’ signal - a call for calm, responsive help in an urgent (but not yet critical) situation. That’s the role I often play: a trusted design partner who sees things early and responds with care, creativity and strategic clarity.

My career has spanned arts and education, health, local government and not-for-profits - sectors that support and enrich community. I spent five formative years in the City of Melbourne’s design studio, where I saw the civic value of design up close. As co-founder and creative director of Frank Design with best friend and fellow designer, Adele Del Signore, over two decades we built a studio rooted in care, clarity and collaboration. That ethos still shapes my practice today.

Whether I’m designing publications, crafting inclusive toolkits, or refreshing an entire brand, I bring empathy, rigour, curiosity and a sense of humour to every stage.

My work is deeply human. I believe the best ideas come when we speak openly, listen well and move forward together with trust. I help clients feel confident in their vision and supported in bringing it to life - clearly, creatively and with heart.
